The G-Cat is faster than its competitors because the flow of water along a well-faired symmetrical hull has less turbulence and drag than any planing hull.
The deep hulls provide excellent directional stability and have proven themselves fast and seaworthy for over 25 years on G-Cat racing catamarans. The low drag hulls and twin outboards make for a fuel efficient and fast cruiser with excellent range. The deep-V and sharp entry over the full length of the G-Cat hulls assure a smooth ride in waves as opposed to the “hobby-horse” and pounding ride that results from the flatter sections of a planing hull.
The G-Cat hulls are designed to have very low drag as they slice through the water with a wave-piercing rather than a wave-riding profile. The inefficiency of other hull designs is evidenced by the amount of wake and white or turbulent water created as the boat moves forward through the water. By minimizing the energy wasted, the G-Cat converts more energy into forward motion.
Each G-Cat 36 is customized to the owner’s individual taste. You can build your G-Cat as basic, or as plush, as you choose. The design attention and options you receive from this manufacturer are typically found only in multi-million dollar yachts.
